About the Author

Our lives are a letter written in your hearts. I write to inspire, I write to love, I write to glorify Jesus Christ. I started Walk Light Books so that I could share stories with my children that would help them to develop a love for reading and encourage them in their walk with God. My husband is an avid reader and our children are home-schooled. With Walk Light, we hope that your family can enjoy the beautiful experience of family, faith and books.

Ashanda Niya McCants began writing poetry at the age of 19. She has ministered through spoken word at Florida Atlanta University, Calvary Chapel Coral Springs, and Christian Life Center. She recorded a poetry album titled: Beauty Cries, in 2008 . Ashanda began homeschooling her children two years later which piqued her interest in children's literature. Holme Days: Bitter Bites is her first children's book. She and her husband, Aaron reside in Fort Lauderdale, FL with their seven children.

Uniquely Written...

Have you ever been an outsider? There are fantastic children's books available to purchase for your growing littles everywhere. But, as a home school parent, I find that our family fits outside of the social norm. I wrote Holme Days: Bitter Bites to inspire my children and speak to the home school community in a unique way that strengthens the fabric of our home culture through realistic moral tales and meaningful lessons.
